At Aicha & Afrique, our work is deeply personal. Behind every basket, every braid, and every beauty product is a commitment to integrity, culture, and community.

As a hair braider with years of hands-on experience, Aicha understands the value of skilled hands and the beauty of craftsmanship. That same appreciation guides how we source each of our handmade products—from vibrant handwoven baskets to natural hair extensions and accessories. We don’t just “buy stock”; we build relationships.
Aicha works directly with talented artisans across West Africa, especially women weavers and makers whose skills have been passed down through generations. We listen to their stories, honour their time, and pay fair prices that reflect the true worth of their work. These partnerships are built on mutual respect, not exploitation.
Whenever possible, we bypass middlemen to ensure profits go straight to the hands that deserve them most. This also allows us to be selective—choosing only items that meet our standards of authenticity, beauty, and soul.
Our braiding salon in Australia is also a space where culture and commerce meet. Here, we don’t just offer services—we celebrate heritage. We proudly use and recommend many of the same natural products and handmade accessories found in our store, bridging the gap between African tradition and everyday beauty.
Aicha & Afrique is more than a brand. It’s a sisterhood, a statement, and a celebration of African creativity. Every transaction supports families, fuels dreams, and helps preserve the timeless traditions we hold dear.
Thank you for walking this journey with us—one braid, one basket, one story at a time.
